The reference point for a reason. Pineapple and bergamot open sharp and bright, then birch tar and smoke take over in a shape most noses read as Aventus, only drier and smokier at the top. Longevity and projection both land above average for the price, and at roughly a twelfth of the original it is the cheapest credible route to that silhouette. The opening is the harshest part; give it ten minutes.
